Anonymous Source: Dont'a Hightower Had to Get an MRI Today for Pain in His Leg

Dont’a Hightower getting an MRI on his leg right now. Walked off the field saying his entire leg hurt, not specifically ACL or Hamstring, just pain down his whole leg. Walked back to locker room under his own power and refused to get on the cart, but was in obvious pain. Came back out for autographs, now getting the scan.

If this is true, it’s obviously huge news. It comes from someone claiming to know someone who knows Hightower. I can’t confirm it. The only mention of a Hightower injury today you’ll find anywhere is this:

And it’s a hell of a leap to go from Hightower “moved slowly,” and “gingerly” but “didn’t miss time” and came out to sign autographs to his whole leg is in pain and he’s getting an MRI done. And all I have to go on is this anonymous tip by a Stoolie who doesn’t want to be identified. I hope he’s wrong and it’s all just a big, wacky, sitcom-like misunderstanding we can all have a good laugh about when Hightower takes the field for the next practice. If it’s true, we could have our first major, disastrous, Patriots nutpunch of the 2018 season. Right now, I don’t know.

But if I learned anything about journalism from Dave during the Gronk Trade Rumor Crisis of June 8th, 2018, if a story hits the Unconfirmed Rumor stage, run with it. If I’m right I want credit. If I’m wrong I don’t want any blame.
